Does it work offline?
Yes. Once you've downloaded the tour, all audio and map data is stored on your device. You don't need a data connection during the walk.
Do I need an account to use it?
A free account is required — sign in with Apple or Google in one tap. It keeps your progress and unlocked stops when you change phone, and it is what lets you restore a purchase on a new device.
How many stops are free?
Right now, every stop on every tour is free — we're still in launch. When the promotion ends the first 3 stops stay free, which is typically 20–30 minutes of narrated walking, and the rest unlock with a one-time purchase.
How long does the Munich Marienplatz tour take?
About 2 to 2.5 hours at a comfortable walking pace. The route covers 12 stops including the Rathaus, Frauenkirche, Viktualienmarkt, and Sendlinger Tor.
Is there a subscription?
No subscription, ever. Each tour is a one-time purchase — Munich is €4.99 — and once unlocked it's yours for good. During the launch promotion there's nothing to buy: everything is already unlocked.
How is this different from Rick Steves Audio Europe or VoiceMap?
Rick Steves is audio-only with no GPS triggering. VoiceMap is solid but subscription-oriented and mostly guide-narrated. AudioVenture combines GPS-triggered audio, offline maps, and two-narrator scripts researched on the ground — written by someone who actually walks these streets.
Does it drain my battery?
GPS and audio use power, but the app is optimised for background playback. Expect roughly the same battery drain as running Apple Maps with music.
Is the audio human or AI?
The research and the writing are human — Markus grew up in Munich and walked every route himself, and each stop is written from local sources. The voices are synthesized, which is how a one-person studio can offer two narrators — Ludwig and Maria — across several languages without a recording booth.
Can I download the tour before I travel?
Yes. Download everything at home on Wi-Fi so you arrive ready to go. No roaming charges, no buffering.
Is it available in German?
Munich is fully narrated in both German and English — the app follows your device language. The Belgian and Czech tours are narrated in English for now, with German store listings.
